A new initiative within Oakland Unified School District, the Office of African American Female Excellence (AAFE) needed to establish visual presence quickly. Community members advocated for AAFE to exist and in response the District needed to respond with a bold act.
Moving on a short timeline, and with our design partners, we launched an impressive brand and poster campaign to build awareness of AAFE and to support the first annual Black Girl Power Conference held at Mills College in Oakland, CA. Eighteen months later, we designed the website which is youth- and adult-friendly.
